MY SMALL BUSINESS STORY

Hi, I’m Lucy and this is my shop, Lucy Loves… welcome!

Why Lucy Loves…? Because I make everything on here, and I make what I love – what I would love to receive as a gift, put up in my house, use, have around.

​

I live in Cheltenham, in a village called Prestbury, nestled at the bottom of a beautiful hill that I watch change with the seasons each morning with my first cuppa of the day.

​

My lovely son and husband are both very supportive of what I do, offering constructive criticism when due, but mostly plying me with tea and encouragement. The other little soul in the house is Oscar the cat. He couldn’t give a monkey’s about my crafting, drifting about the house to snooze in the sun, and pootle about in the garden when it’s not raining. He keeps me entertained when I’m waiting for things to dry.

I started by making bookmarks. I love reading paper books and wanted a new bookmark. I decided to make myself one using some old broken jewellery that I couldn’t bring myself to throw away. I made more for gifts and that got me started.

​

Another passion is decoupage. I always liked the look of it, but hadn’t given it a go until 2020. Soooo much fun, and rather addictive.

​

My other creative love is watercolour painting. Nothing on offer in the shop as yet, but you never know – maybe one day when I feel it’s ready.

​
