I love to read and I love talking about books, and I love our local pub, so it was probably inevitable that when The Plough in Prestbury didn't have a book club, I asked them if I could start one.
A good few months later and it's still going strong.
We meet from 7pm at The Plough in Prestbury, Cheltenham on the last Tuesday of each month.
There is no set reading list, you just turn up and talk about what you've been reading. It's a great way to get inspired to read different books and no pressure to read books you don't want to, or within a certain time. The conversation meanders around books, into book related topics. It's all very relaxed and friendly.
There's a fair amount of book swapping goes on too and each month, we put our names into a beer glass (well it is a pub) for a chance to get the month's Blind Date with a Book.
We're all ages and not just all women, which is wonderful. Everyone is welcome.
